Whale Watching Tours

Hermanus is the country's premier whale watching venue. Southern Rights come inshore to breed and calve in Walker Bay between June and November. Numerous vantage points, including the high backing cliffs, provide rewarding shore-based observation.

The town's whale crier (the only one in the world) alerts passers-by to the presence of these giant mammals in the bay.

The annual Whale Festival is held over eleven days in October.
